元器件交易網(wǎng)訊5月30日消息，據(jù)外媒報道，SK海力士今日表示，它已經(jīng)簽署協(xié)議，接管美國閃存陣列供應商ViolinMemory擴展卡部門，但并未透露交易價格。

SK海力士計劃在六月完成交易，并吸納該部門在加利福利亞圣克拉拉的資產、人員和專利。

該部門以PCIExpress和PCIe而聞名，高速擴展卡版本通過一個外圍設備連接電腦。SK海力士此舉是為了加強其在NAND閃存解決方案的競爭力。

早些時候，SK海力士收購LAMD公司，它是世界數(shù)據(jù)存儲控制器技術的領導者，后更名為SK海力士內存解決方案。

去年，SK海力士在臺灣SK海力士閃存解決方案有限公司建立了研發(fā)中心。

SK hynix Inc., a leading South Korean chipmaker, said Friday it has signed a deal to take over the expansion card division of U.S. firm Violin Memory Inc. It did not reveal the value of the deal.

The South Korean chipmaker plans to finalize the deal at the end of June, absorbing assets, personnel and patents of the division of the company based in Santa Clara, California, it said.

Known as PCI Express or PCIe, the high-speed expansion card format connects a computer with its attached peripherals. The takeover is viewed as an effort by the South Korean company to strengthen its competitiveness in NAND flash solutions.

Earlier, SK hynix acquired Link_A_Media Devices Corp. (LAMD), a world leader in data storage controller technology in June 2012, which was renamed SK hynix Memory Solutions.

Last year, the chipmaker established a research and development center, SK hynix Flash Solutions Taiwan Ltd., in Taiwan
